On January 15th, 1919, Boston experienced a disaster unlike any other. A massive tank filled with that thick sweet nectar burst open in the city's North End, unleashing a wave of sticky sweetness that raged through the streets like a tsunami. The flood, reaching heights 25 feet in some areas, was horrifying. Homes and businesses crumbled under the weight of the sticky goo.
